My personal journey towards wellness began on a bicycle in the Spring of 1998. What started as a simple commitment to ride for a good cause soon blossomed into a love of fresh air, exercise, vibrant health and a desire to be a part of something really positive.
Gradually riding longer distances and pushing beyond my usual limits, I accidentally discovered the art of controlled breathing and energy conservation through spontaneous dynamic meditation, all the while figuring out how to nourish my body for strength and endurance. As the quality of my choices improved, life became truly magical. For me, the process felt surprisingly easy, natural and spiritual.
During this seemingly effortless unfolding and having been blessed with incredible guidance, I began to experience profound and intensely healing body-mind-soul connections that grew stronger with each day of intention. Thus began the stirrings of my calling to share this passion for wellness with others.
Meanwhile, after nearly two decades at work in sales and advertising, my personal journey reached a crossroad, and with the support of loving family and friends, I left the corporate world to indulge my passion for a deeper level of wellness.
In June 2006, I graduated with honor from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC, received certification from the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, and went on to complete two more years as a student-counselor through IIN's intensive Immersion program.
My vision of facilitating a home-based, members-driven, grass-roots wellness group became reality that Spring during school, and the remainder of 2006 began my full time commitment to offering individual holistic health programs and group wellness workshops.
After attracting attention at Snug Harbor Cultural Center's Earth Day Expo '07, I was invited to be a featured guest on local cable TV talk show, Spiritual Exploration (CTV 35). Hosted by Christine Schiavone, an entire hour was devoted to how and why the foods we eat influence our interaction with the world around us. My Spiritual Nutrition episode aired five times that Summer! My two-part interview can be viewed in its entirety on YouTube: Food and Spirituality Part 1 and Part 2.
Also, in 2006 I was honored to apprentice with my yoga guru and raw food chef alchemist, Shanti Devi aka Michal Adi founder of Sensory Foods, and received private instruction on living foods nutrition. In 2009 I was granted a NYC Food Handlers license.
In 2006 and 2009 respectively, I received Reiki levels I and II attunements from Arpana Rohi aka Kena Custage, co-founder of Energy of Breath. In 2010 I explored techniques for Animal Communication with Rebecca Marina of Celebration Healing to more effectively channel healing energy for all beings.
Striving to enhance my clients' holistic experience, I studied basic and advanced Foot Reflexology with Bob Wolfe at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY during 2008, and received national certification from the American Reflexology Certification Board in 2009.
In November 2008, I was ordained Minister of Peace through the Universal Life Church.
I supplement my wellness practice as an independent distributor for Young Living (pure therapeutic grade essential oils, accessories, plus more) and Melaleuca (non-toxic pantry, personal care and household products). I have affiliate relationships with Vitamix, Nutiva and Self-Healing Expressions. I am also an Integrative Nutrition Ambassador and Student-Coach.
